Air Services Limited (ASL) is the unique story of a small family business which has grown over the past fifty years into the largest airline in the country.
ASL has its genesis from the timber company of A. Mazaharally and Sons Limited when its founder Mr. Yacoob Ally, constructed airstrips in all his timber concessions, purchased his first aircraft, obtained his private pilot’s licence and started servicing his timber business by air.
Recognizing the potential of aviation to service the remote and undeveloped interior locations of Guyana he then purchased Inair which was a two aircraft operation and Air Services Limited was born.
What started out as a single aircraft operation then grew into the current fleet of 19 aircraft comprising of six types which is now capably managed by his younger son Cpt Mazahar Ally an equally experienced pilot, who not only flies each aircraft in the company’s fleet of 19 but is also a helicopter pilot.
ASL provides a safe, efficient and reliable service to all of Guyana’s interior destinations, including some of the most remote airstrips in our hinterland. Apart from our base at the Ogle airport, ASL also operates a modern hangar at Mahdia from which we shuttle over 300,000 lbs of cargo per month.
